There truly are too many list, as you can probably imagine that from ocean to land you can choose from so many adventurous tours, that the young and the young at heart will be completely happy and thrilled.

It is a city that is over flowing with so many exciting things to see and do while you are here, just deciding where to start is hard enough! There is some of Australia’s best fishing to be done in Newcastle and as for diving well you can only imagine the endless diving experiences to be had! The coral gardens are amazing with brightly coloured corals and inquisitive fish species by the hundreds. With many different caves and gorges to explore you can spend as much time as you like under water level.

Newcastle is a vibrant cosmopolitan city, bursting with energy and creativity! From arts and crafts stalls to interesting markets held all year round that you can wander through and find some very weird and wonderful creations. There are also cruises, tours and rental options by the hundreds that you can embark on to explore this area.

While you are here you must go and discover the Bogey Hole at Newcastle Beach which is a hand-hewn ocean rock pool that was carved out by convicts in the early 19th century, as well as making the Merewether Ocean Baths a must do while you are here, as they are the largest in the southern hemisphere.

From boutiques, bookshops, cafes, restaurants and bars… the streets of Newcastle are lined with many delights to interest everyone! Why not check out the beautiful harbour precinct or Darby Street in Cooks Hill where it is too easy to waste an entire day just wandering and looking.

The Hunter Wetlands Centre is a great family day out where you can explore the network of ponds in your own canoe, so bird watching or spot many wonderful flora and fauna species native to Australia. Newcastle has many interesting stories to be told dating back to the early convict days, as well as the old mining days. Many of the interesting and historic stories are told from a number of old buildings, including the goal, museum, art galleries and restored buildings.
