Thredbo is located only a 2 and a half hour drive south of Canberra and a 6 hour drive from the city of Sydney so getting to Thredbo is easy. Make your way to Jindabyne, the gateway to the snowy mountains, and then you are only 31 kilometres away from Australia’s longest ski runs. There are so many ways to get to Thredbo, you can either fly or go by bus. Most airlines service the Canberra Airport from all the major Australian cities and then you jump on a plane to the Cooma Airport which is approximately 1 hours drive from Thredbo. Then just relax as you catch one of the coach transfers to your preferred accommodation. All bus lines will drive you directly to Thredbo or if you would rather do it all at your own pace, you can hire a car from anywhere is Australia. But you must always make sure that you have properly fitter snow chains just in case there is heavy snow fall while you are there. You will also need to contact the National Parks in Jindabyne to organise your Park Entry Fees before you make your way to Thredbo. National Park fees can be paid at the Gates or at the National Parks Centre in Jindabyne.
