Taree

Taree is a town in the Mid North Coast of New South Wales, it is approximately 3 hours north of Sydney and 1 hour south of Port Macquarie, it is situated on the beautiful Manning River.

The Manning Valley is the region where Taree (the main town of the region)and Wingham, Harrington, Forster, Tuncurry, Old Bar, Cundletown, Chatham and Crowdy Bay are located. Taree is a perfect location for being less than half an hour’s travel to all of the surrounding towns 

Taree has beautiful historic buildings dating back to the 19th century, with include churches, public school and the court house.

If you have ever driven through Taree, you may have come across the world’s biggest oyster, it is also known as “The Big Oyster”. The big oyster was built due to oysters being their local produce from the Manning River, however the business who built it was unsuccessful and it is now a car dealership. Taree has great holiday accommodation including bed and breakfasts, farm stays, motels, resorts, caravan parks and tourist parks.
