Hermitage Road, Pokolbin, Hunter Valley
Hunter Resort Country Estate is located at the heart of the Hunter Valley Wine Country just 2 hours easy drive north of Sydney. The Hunter is not one of those big resorts but a is rather a small family owned and run 35 room lodge with great food, wonderful wines, excellent accommodation & surrounded by their own 30-year-old vineyard. Unwind on 70 secluded acres, play a game of tennis or take one of the mountain bikes for a workout through acres of vineyard. Then maybe a few laps of the pool or grab that book you never finished and relax in the heated spa. What about some 'serious' coffee in the café? Also on site is the largest winery in the Hunter Valley and the wine country's only microbrewery!
Also onsite is the Wine School where you can learn how wine is made right on the property. Everyday at 9:30am the course runs for 2 hours and covers subjects such as wine history, wine assessment, wine styles, palate evaluation, a technical tour of the winery, concluding with the presentation of certificates.
Hunter Resort is now the home of the Wine Country's first boutique brewery. Quality wine and boutique beer are most compatible and what better way to finish a hard day of tasting in the Hunter Valley Wine Country than with a cleansing beer. A glass wall is the only separation between you at the bar and the brewery. Many styles of beer are available including the unique Alcoholic Ginger Beer, and the sensational premium Lager. Come in and taste the brews. Hungry? Try their homemade pies, pizza, salads and anti pasta. Open 7 days for breakfast, lunch and dinner.Resort Facilities:

The area which incorporates Pokolbin, Lovedale, Mount View and Rothbury is associated with just one thing: wine. These are the vineyards of the Lower Hunter - a paradise for wine lovers and of scant interest for others, although the district is quite scenic and there are just enough secondary attractions to justify a visit by those who have no interest in viticulture. Pokolbin is not a town and although some refer to it, for historic reasons, as a village this is also stretching the definition of the term somewhat. There is little centrality about the area which is essentially a district bisected by a number of roads along which are picturesque vineyards and those businesses which complement the wineries, restaurants, galleries, nurseries, gift shops and various enterprises which furnish transport around the district.Area Features & Activities:
