In the nearby hinterland there are many attractions and National Parks that will be of interest to the traveller. Arakwal National Park consists of 183 Hectares stretching along the coast from Cape Byron along Tallow Beach for nearly two kilometres and features a spectacular cliff top walking track which provides panoramic views of the ocean and the North coast hinterland and allows a vantage point to spot migrating Humpback Whales, Turtles, Dolphins and other marine life. Rainforest walks are available at Broken Head nature reserve, Mooball National Park and Mount Warning National Park. Nightcap National park is a must see with its awesome 100 metre Minyon Falls and rainforest walks along the Minyom track. The Marine Park at nearby Julian Rocks is a sought after dive site and a mecca for scuba divers and is situated just off the main beach.
